About the Role
Join a forward-thinking Digital Solutions Provider as a Senior Specialist: Network Engineer in Johannesburg. Key Responsibilities
- Network Design & Implementation Architect and deploy robust networking solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
- Maintenance & Optimization Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure continuous uptime.
- Security Management Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection, and other security protocols.
- Project Leadership Lead end-to-end network projects from planning to delivery, managing timelines and resources.
- Capacity Planning Analyze growth trends to anticipate future requirements and scale infrastructure.
- Mentorship Support and guide junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management Collaborate with vendors and negotiate for hardware/software solutions aligned with business goals.
- Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate documentation and ensure alignment with regulatory and audit requirements.
Requirements
- 3 years of Computer Science, IT, or related field degree.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years in a specialist capacity.
- Proven expertise in Cisco ACI design, configuration, and troubleshooting (multi-pod fabric, APIC management, firmware upgrades).
- Strong experience with C#, ASP.NET, SQL, and automation tools to enhance efficiency.
- Ability to troubleshoot and deploy VxLAN networks.
- Experience supporting large-scale data centres and complex enterprise networking environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
