Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

The Purpose of This Role is to be proactive in all aspects of South African tax consulting and tax advisory.

PKF Octagons tax advisory department is renowned for its comprehensive expertise in South African tax consulting and advisory services. Our advisory services encompass a wide range of tax-related issues, including corporate income tax, international tax, and merger and acquisition tax planning.

Key Job Duties or Responsibilities:

  • Produce work of exceptional accuracy and technical standard
  • Draft tax opinions, advise, reports or memorandums from various South African tax legislation ensuring technical correctness for review by tax manager.
  • Experience drafting voluntary disclosure programmes, ceasing tax residency applications as well as collating calculations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of preparation of tax due diligence assessments
  • Good understanding of tax computations and applicable tax calculations
  • Strong calculation capabilities
  • Constantly kept abreast of changes in the industry and able to interpret these changes to the benefit of the firm and clients.
  • Interpret and apply theoretical knowledge to practical business solutions through a comprehensive understanding of basic South African taxes
  • Prioritise workload effectively to meet established
  • Gather information from diverse sources using effective research
  • Assist in the research and preparation of proposals and engagement letters including risk management assistance.
  • Establish credibility with colleagues and clients through effective communication skills
  • Contribute meaningfully to discussions and actively participate in generating innovative ideas and thoughts
  • Adapt to an evolving work environment and respond to changing client demands
  • Promote teamwork by regularly sharing knowledge with peers and actively seeking information to achieve personal and professional objectives.
