The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of advanced packaging and bottling machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime for clients. This role involves extensive travel , both nationally and internationally , to support customers across various locations. Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to : Performing the day-to-day maintenance activities to ensure that Krones machinery performs efficiently Conduct equipment audits and overhauls Maintain safe working environment Coach customers on operational and maintenance activities Ability to communicate and interact with the client, technicians, subsidiaries Ability to fault find in a logical and professional manner Ability to install and commission new machines/retrofits with instruction Attend to breakdowns telephonically and physically Willingness to work overtime and night work Travelling to customers nationally and internationally Conduct performance acceptance test at the customers Provide intervention reports Installation and commissioning of single and complete packaging lines Qualification, Experience, Behaviours & Skills National Diploma or N6 with trade certificate, a degree in industrial automation will be advantageous Must have a minimum of 7 years experience in a Field service role in the beverage industry Knowledge of Automation (Siemens S7 & TIA Portal), motion controls (B&R, Danfoss, SEW), Inspection machines, Dry end and general electrics Strong technical knowledge of FMCG / machine packaging Must have knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act Supervisory experience will be an advantage Ability to install and commission packaging machines Advantageous Must be customer orientated and able to adapt to change Individual will be required to develop and monitor team goals Manage personal development and personal performance Report writing skills and root-cause analysis Good oral and written communication

Roles and Responsibilities Tasks Technical problem diagnosis remotely or at our customers’ site Providing on-site repairs, installations, off-site remote troubleshooting Providing preventative maintenance and repair of equipment (food processing, retail & industrial scales, weigh price labelling and inspection systems as required) Listen to customer concerns and communicate all job-related topics in an efficient and comprehensive manner Set-up and troubleshoot both wired and wireless network connected devices Documentation of service calls Responsibility for the spare parts inventory in the service vehicle Proactive sales of our service products and services Intermittently lifting 35kg equipment and working in unusual climate (e.g. freezer rooms) Qualifications Associated degree or equivalent Electrical Engineering NRCS verification officer/repairer a huge advantage Capable of reading wiring diagrams, schematics and spare part break downs Experience in repair and installation of PC based devices or processor-controlled equipment such as weigh price labelling, inspection systems and industrial scales Good analytical skills for troubleshooting and diagnostics Familiar with TCP/IP based connections and other system bus protocols Good PC hardware knowledge & experience in interface technology and in the areas of ethernet & networks Strong knowledge of mechanics Customer focused and self-motivated Confident appearance, ability to work under pressure, initiative and organizational skills Reliability and flexibility in working hours Travel within the service area as required by the position. Company and Job Description: The Service Technician is responsible for all service-related work, including chargeable tasks such as inspection plans, breakdown repairs, maintenance, warranty labour, commissioning, and assisting after-sales engineers to ensure high-quality service delivery. Key Responsibilities: Ensure a safe working environment and maintain the safe operating condition of equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations. Provide 24-hour telephonic support for customers needing assistance. Conduct site inspections to evaluate and cost jobs. Perform chargeable warranty labour efficiently. Conduct site inspections on buildings lacking maintenance to identify opportunities for securing maintenance contracts. Compile comprehensive written reports of findings, including photographic evidence. Generate new work opportunities on contracted sites by recommending system improvements. Execute all commissioning requirements for VRV and chiller systems. Complete and communicate job cards with service coordinators daily/weekly. Collaborate closely with service coordinators and spare parts controllers to ensure optimal teamwork and service delivery. Maintain up-to-date product knowledge by attending web-based training sessions on sales and technical courses. Participate in team-building sessions as required. Travel locally or internationally as needed. Work overtime when necessary to maintain optimal service levels. Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile): Grade 12 or N3 HVAC Diploma (Technical College). National Trade Certificate in HVAC&R. Safe Handling of Refrigerant Certification, Category B (SAQCC). Safety training certification. First Aid Level 1 certification. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in service and maintenance activities. At least 3 years of commissioning experience. Minimum of 5 years of fault-finding experience.
