Johannesburg: Service Technician

Job Description

Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding on heavy mining and drilling equipment Diagnose and resolve breakdowns on: Drill rigs Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Compressors, pumps, motors, and gearboxes Conduct planned preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime Install, commission, and test new equipment on site Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals Compile detailed service and maintenance reports Provide technical support and training to site personnel Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards Qualified Millwright (Red Seal / Trade Tested) Minimum 5 years post‑trade experience (mining or heavy industrial environment preferred) Strong experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems PLC fault-finding exposure (advantageous) Valid passport (with no travel restrictions) Valid drivers license Medically fit for remote site work

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our maintenance and servicing team, you will provide technical expertise and solution sales ability to clients across various industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing on equipment for coal, gold, copper, and platinum mines
  • Provide technical support and solutions to clients
  • Stand-in as a Project Manager when required
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored services

Requirements
