Our client has an opportunity available for a Shipping Manager (Procurement).
Requirements:
- Matric or RPL.
- Relevant degree in Supply Chain or Logistics.
- 6-month certificate in clearing and forwarding.
- Knowledge:
- Importation logistics.
- Import and customs regulations.
- ACC PAC.
- MS Office (advance excel).
- Blue link or Investec Import solutions would be advantageous.
- Import Tracking Software.
- Advanced Arithmetic.
- Product Knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of the merchandise to be imported from foreign destinations.
- Monitor and complete paperwork and monetary transactions associated with international imports.
- Receive stock onto ACC PAC.
- Ensure all pricing structures are updated according to new exchange rates.
- Ensure that the shipment adheres to customs regulations and coordinate with shipping and customs agents for clearance on delivery.
- Deal with quotes from prospective shippers.
- Handle claims with insurance companies if any shipment problems happen to occur.
- Provide efficient delivery logistics information through data management.
- Compute international fees for each shipment and keep track of shipment payments.
- Adhere to specified standards, policies, practices and procedures.
- Take personal responsibility for the cleanliness and appearance of the assigned workspace.
- Act as a third-party service provider for customers.
- Submit a weekly goods and transit report to management.
- Ensure that the customers goods are delivered using the correct mode of transport.
- Keep updated with the exchange rates inform CFO accordingly.
