Job Description

About the Role

A well-established international group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to provide finance support to multiple subsidiaries within a dynamic African operation. This role offers exposure to group reporting, IFRS compliance, treasury management, and multinational finance operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic financial decision-making through accurate reporting, strong controls, and effective financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to internal stakeholders and the international holding company
Ensure full compliance with IFRS and applicable local accounting standards
Maintain accurate financial records and oversee general ledger integrity
Perform monthly reconciliations and process month-end journal entries
Reconcile intercompany loan accounts
Prepare and maintain monthly commission schedules
Oversee the accounts payable function (local and international suppliers)
Manage the Group treasury function, ensuring effective cash flow and liquidity management
Supervise stock counts and process related adjustments
Maintain fixed asset registers in compliance with tax and accounting requirements
Prepare and submit VAT and withholding tax returns
Support finance system enhancements and process automation initiatives
Assist with statutory compliance and regulatory obligations

Requirements

BCom Accounting degree (SAIPA articles preferred, Honours advantageous)
Minimum 3 years’ accounting experience
Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong computer literacy
Syspro experience will be advantageous
