About the Role
A well-established international group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to provide finance support to multiple subsidiaries within a dynamic African operation. This role offers exposure to group reporting, IFRS compliance, treasury management, and multinational finance operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic financial decision-making through accurate reporting, strong controls, and effective financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to internal stakeholders and the international holding company
- Ensure full compliance with IFRS and applicable local accounting standards
- Maintain accurate financial records and oversee general ledger integrity
- Perform monthly reconciliations and process month-end journal entries
- Reconcile intercompany loan accounts
- Prepare and maintain monthly commission schedules
- Oversee the accounts payable function (local and international suppliers)
- Manage the Group treasury function, ensuring effective cash flow and liquidity management
- Supervise stock counts and process related adjustments
- Maintain fixed asset registers in compliance with tax and accounting requirements
- Prepare and submit VAT and withholding tax returns
- Support finance system enhancements and process automation initiatives
- Assist with statutory compliance and regulatory obligations
Requirements
BCom Accounting degree (SAIPA articles preferred, Honours advantageous)
Minimum 3 years’ accounting experience
Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong computer literacy
Syspro experience will be advantageous
