About the Role
Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Practitioner/Consultant to join an established firm. In this role, you will provide comprehensive tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse range of clients. Your expertise in tax laws and regulations will ensure that clients receive proactive advice and strategies to optimize their tax positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review corporate and personal tax returns to ensure compliance with applicable laws
- Identify tax planning opportunities for clients to reduce tax liabilities
- Assist clients with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities
- Research and interpret complex tax issues, providing sound recommendations
- Maintain client relationships through effective communication and follow-ups
- Stay current with changes in tax regulations and practices
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in tax consulting or compliance, including 2-3 years of unsupervised work
- Tax Practitioner License or eligibility
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, or similar) is highly desirable
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Proficiency in tax calculations and submissions for: income tax, withholding tax (WHT), and other core relevant tax matters
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong understanding of SARS processes and protocols
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in handling tax objections and related processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (if available)
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, or similar)
Salary & Benefits
Negotiable, Dependent on Experience (R300K-R218K/yr.)
