Job Summary

Requirements:

Qualified Millwright with an electrical background (3 to 5 years of experience). Experience in the FMCG sector a MUST. Proficiency in Afrikaans is beneficial. Matric or equivalent NQF. Must be a trade tested Millwright with strong electrical / Instrumentation. 5 years plus working experience within a related field. Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to: Troubleshooting, repair of complex machinery in a professional / timely manner. Reading and understanding of manuals/blueprints/diagrams/mechanical schematics and electrical diagrams. Running trails/tests on equipment and interpreting the result into further recommendations Undertaking installation/commissioning/training on equipment. Writing up reports based on findings/service on equipment Performing routine maintenance on complex equipment at site or in the workshop. Ability to work with minimal supervision and use technical judgement on complex tasks. Prompt assistance/advise to customers with queries / breakdowns in an appropriate manner. Ensure customers expectations are exceeded in respect to quality and service. Respond immediately to requests for workshop breakdowns to customers. Action customer services as per schedule. Analyse the cause of the problem. Arrange quotes for customers to authorise repairs. Ensure arranged and require spares to complete the job are Maintain safety standards both at in-house and at customers. Form part of the standby team. Job Summary

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Workshop Technician with a strong electrical background to join their team. The ideal candidate must be a qualified Millwright with experience in the FMCG sector and will be responsible for repairing and maintaining large machinery on-site at client locations across Gauteng.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair complex machinery on-site at client locations in a timely and professional manner. Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and mechanical and electrical schematics to troubleshoot equipment. Conduct testing and trial runs on machinery and provide recommendations based on findings. Install, commission, and provide training on new equipment. Perform routine maintenance on complex machinery either on-site or in the workshop. Provide prompt assistance and advice to clients regarding breakdowns and repairs. Manage and complete multiple job cards within tight deadlines. Ensure all customer service requests are actioned as per schedule and expectations are exceeded. Analyze and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, arranging for necessary parts and repairs. Write detailed reports on findings, services rendered, and recommended repairs. Maintain safety standards both on-site and in-house. Be part of an on-call standby team every second week, including weekends when required. Key Skills: Strong technical skills in electrical systems, machinery diagnostics, and repairs. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Self-driven, with the ability to take initiative and solve complex problems efficiently. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in computer literacy for job card management and reporting. Fluency in Afrikaans is beneficial, as a significant portion of the client base is Afrikaans-speaking. Experience in field service, involving travel to client locations, is essential. Valid drivers license. Ability and willingness to travel across Gauteng for on-site repairs. Qualifications: Trade tested Millwright with 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. Proven experience in the FMCG sector is a must.
