We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Engineering Supervisor to join our mining operation in Northern Cape, South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mining engineering, with extensive experience in supervising engineering teams and ensuring the successful operation of mining equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities:

– Oversee and supervise a team of engineering staff, including mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers.
– Plan and coordinate engineering projects, including maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of mining equipment and facilities.
– Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the efficient operation of mining equipment and minimize downtime.
– Monitor and analyze equipment performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to optimize equipment productivity.
– Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures, and promote a culture of safety among engineering staff.
– Collaborate with other departments, such as production and safety, to ensure the smooth operation of the mining operation.
– Provide technical support and guidance to engineering staff, and mentor junior engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

– A Valid Trade Certificate
– Grade 12
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role in a mining environment.
– Strong knowledge of mining equipment and facilities, including crushers, conveyors, and processing plants.
– Experience in developing maintenance strategies and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
– Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire engineering teams.
– Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
– Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the mining industry.
– Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and Microsoft Office suite.
