Job Details: Title: Metals Recovery Specialist Location: Pomona Kempton Park Permanent: Yes Full time: Yes Industry: Electronic Recycling Salary / CTC: R 15 000 – R 20 000 depending on experience Reports to: Lab Manager Job Summary: Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Metals Recovery Specialist with expertise in finding solutions to complex problems, particularly in the field of metal recovery from alloys. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in their laboratory, conducting experiments, analysing data, and developing innovative methods to recover metals efficiently. This position requires a strong background in chemistry, metallurgy, and analytical techniques. Responsibilities:

Conduct experiments to recover metals from alloys using various chemical and metallurgical processes. Develop and optimize metal recovery methods to improve efficiency and yield. Perform chemical and physical analyses of alloys to determine metal composition and properties. Troubleshoot and solve complex problems related to metal recovery processes. Collaborate with research teams to design experiments and develop new metal recovery technologies. Maintain accurate records of experiments, procedures, and results. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations in the laboratory. Stay updated with advancements in metal recovery techniques and technologies. Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor`s degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field. Master`s degree preferred. Proven experience in metal recovery from alloys, preferably in an industrial or research setting. Strong understanding of chemical principles and metallurgical processes. Proficiency in analytical techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and microscopy. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly. Prior experience with laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
