About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Head Chef to join our 4-star lodge in Komatipoort, where you will be responsible for overseeing food and beverage operations. With 3-5 years of experience in a similar environment, you will be expected to lead a team and ensure high-quality food service while maintaining a focus on safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage kitchen staff and coordinate daily menus
- Implement food and wine trends and maintain inventory control
- Create and implement written control documents and training manuals
- Plan, budget, and manage departmental administration tasks
- Maintain valid driver’s license and participate in functions and events
Requirements
- 3-5 years of head chef experience in a 4/5-star environment
- Food Hygiene and/or professional cooking qualifications
- Good understanding of food and wine trends
- Knowledgeable of all dietary and religious requirements
- Good knowledge of creating, implementing, and maintaining written control documents and training manuals
- Good knowledge of stock procedures and control
- Valid Driver’s License
- Well-experienced in functions and events
Qualifications
- Food Hygiene and/or professional cooking qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Matric certificate
Salary & Benefits
Salary: R 22 000 – R25 000 per annum.
