About the Role
As a Trailer Mechanic at our company, you will be responsible for carrying out services and repairs on trailers according to OEM specifications. You will also be expected to attend to breakdowns in depot, on the road, normal and after hours. Additionally, you will perform inspections of trailers before and after work, complete job cards and workshop applications accurately, and maintain a high level of technical serviceability by performing quality work and preventative maintenance in line with ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out services and repairs on trailers according to OEM specifications
- Attend to breakdowns in depot, on the road, normal and after hours
- Perform inspections of trailers before and after work
- Complete job cards and workshop applications accurately
- Maintain a high level of technical serviceability by performing quality work and preventative maintenance in line with ISO standards
- Prioritize operational requests, recognize technical deficiencies, and implement effective solutions in conjunction with the foreman and workshop manager
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in trailer mechanics or diesel mechanic trade
- Diesel Mechanic recognised trade certificate
- Grade 12 certificate
- Welding experience
- Auto electrical experience
- Valid drivers license (applicants without a valid driver’s license will not be considered)
- Own vehicle required to travel from home to work
- Must reside in the Komatipoort area or willing to relocate
- Fluent in English
- Computer literate
