Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our farm team in Krugersdorp as an entry-level farm laborer, specifically working with organic pomegranate farming. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with organic pest control methods and be able to work independently as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Scout for pests and diseases and correctly identify common agricultural pests
- Assist with post-harvest handling, including cold storage management, sorting and grading fruit, and pomegranate deseeding processes
- Participate in organic cultivation of avocado, Cape gooseberry, granadilla, and lemon crops
Requirements
- Proven experience working on an organic pomegranate farm
- Practical knowledge of organic pest control methods, including organic pesticides, fungal sprays, and organic fertilizers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a farm team
- Reliable and physically fit
- Willingness to work in an outdoor agricultural environment
