About the Role
Hire Resolve is working with a reputable mining company to fill the position of Superintendent Rock Engineer, ensuring the safety and stability of underground mining operations. As a key member of their team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing rock support designs, conducting geological and geotechnical assessments, and providing technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement rock support systems for underground mining operations
- Conduct geological and geotechnical assessments to identify potential risks and hazards
- Provide technical guidance and support to the mining team
- Monitor and analyze ground conditions, and recommend appropriate actions
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize mine design and planning
- Train and mentor junior rock engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in rock engineering or geotechnical engineering within the mining industry
- Registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist
- Strong knowledge of rock mechanics principles and underground mining methods
- Experience with geotechnical software and modeling tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
