About the Role
J D Specialized Recruitment is partnering with a luxury Safari Lodge in KwaZulu-Natal to recruit a highly professional and experienced guide to join a passionate, conservation-driven safari team. Set within a vast and rewilded wilderness area, this exceptional reserve is deeply committed to biodiversity restoration, wildlife protection and meaningful community upliftment, offering guests authentic, purpose-led safari experiences in an unspoiled natural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional, safe, and educational safari experiences while supporting the leadership, mentoring, and development of junior guides.
- Ensure compliance with reserve protocols and contribute to a consistently high standard of guiding within a Big 5 environment.
- Uphold the lodge’s conservation ethos and ensure guest safety, ethical wildlife interactions, and accurate interpretation of the natural environment in a Big 5 reserve.
Requirements
- FGASA Professional Field Guide qualification (minimum Level 2 recommended).
- Valid Trails Guide qualification (advantageous, if applicable to operations).
- Valid PDP and driver’s licence (Code B / C1 as applicable).
- First Aid Level 2 (minimum).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ guiding experience in a Big 5 reserve.
- Clear criminal record.
Qualifications
- FGASA Field Guide qualification (minimum Level 1; Level 2 advantageous).
