- Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotating schedule.
- A strong desire to grow in the dairy industry, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and progress to higher management levels.
- The ability to be self-reflective and take full responsibility for his/her actions.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Manage a team of 13 staff members in and around the milking parlour – including supervision of working hours, training, conflict management, and leave planning.
- Perform AI as part of the herd’s breeding program.
- Administer injections, treat sick animals, vaccinations, drips, and general health management – including hoof care.
- Assist with births and calving, as well as aftercare of cows and calves.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the milking parlour.
- Manage milk tanks, including cleaning, transfer, and proper storage of milk.
