About the Role
Complete Healthcare Services is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join our team in Limpopo, where you will work on a one-to-one basis with patients in the comfort of their homes or caring for a patient in a facility. As part of a multidisciplinary team, your duties may revolve around the care of adults and children with tracheostomies connected to a ventilator, elderly patients with special focus on dementia and Alzheimer’s care, quadriplegic patients with PEG Tubes, palliative patients in end-of-life care. Providing basic care, assisting with personal hygiene, administering medications under supervision of the registered nurse or family, and documenting patient conditions and progress are just some of the key responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic care to patients, including washing, dressing, grooming, feeding, support with moving, toileting
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Monitor vital signs of patients and record in a daily report
- Manage feeds of a tracheostomy baby using a feeding pump
- Observe changes in patient condition and record in the daily report
- Assess sleep routines of patients and discuss with registered nurse to adjust care plans
Requirements
- Good communication skills with supervisors, colleagues, patients, and family members
- Knowledge of dealing with emergency situations with a patient in their home
- Knowledge of Geriatric Care, Paediatric Care, Dementia Care, Post Stroke Care, Ventilation Care
- Good knowledge of Catheter care (indwelling, supra pubic, intermittent)
- Prevention of pressure sores in bedridden patients
- Good knowledge of trachea care or experience working with tracheostomy patients
- Prevention of infection in all patients
- Skilled in writing reports
Qualifications
- Diploma as a qualified Enrolled Nurse
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
