About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our Lydenburg Branch team. As a permanent employee, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing diesel-powered vehicles, equipment, and machinery, as well as electrical systems and equipment on site.
Key Responsibilities
- To maintain, service and repair all diesel-powered vehicles, equipment and machinery to ensure reliable and efficient operation, contributing to the overall performance and safety of the machines.

- Install, assemble, and configure mechanical systems and equipment at client sites.
- Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and integration of mechanical components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues and implement timely repairs.
- Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and relevant departments to resolve complex issues.
- Provide feedback to engineering teams for product improvement.
- Arrange / request all spares required in a pro-active manner.
- Might also be required to help with Breakdown Maintenance on Surface Machines.
- Inspect the machines; take the required test measurements record findings on Inspection Report.
- Sign-off the Inspection Reports, get approval from Mine Supervisor & hand-in to Charge Hand.
- Follow & adhere to all Mine Rules & Procedures.
- Participate in the Management of Change process & implementation.
- Identify Training needs of people on Site and communicate with Charge Hand and Contracts Manager.
- Do Planned & help with Maintenance on machines in a manner that promotes reliability with total cost saving to the Client.
- This includes all OEM electrical work up to the Junction Box at the Mines Mini-Sub.
- Ensure proper wiring, connection, and configuration of electrical components.
- Conduct thorough inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues

- Trade Certificate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
