Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our luxury lodge at Madikwe, where you will be responsible for preparing and baking a wide range of pastry goods, bread, cakes, and desserts. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will ensure that all pastries are prepared to high standards, while maintaining excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Prepares and bakes bread loaves and rolls, including specialty breads, cakes, biscuits, desserts, and pastry goods as well as hot box snacks and tea-time treats.
Checks the quality of raw materials and weighs ingredients.
Coordinates the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls, desserts, and pastry products, as well as hot box snacks.
Maintains portion control to ensure minimum wastage.
Performs regular stock takes in conjunction with main kitchen.
Ensures all pastry kitchen monthly and daily administration is completed accurately and timeously.
Enforces hygiene regulations and Health and Safety skills in the pastry kitchen.

Requirements

2-3 years previous senior pastry chef experience in a 4/5-star establishment (Essential)
Culinary qualification (Beneficial)
