Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on refrigeration systems, particularly ammonia-based systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair and service refrigeration equipment to ensure continuous operation.
- Monitor and maintain HACCP compliance throughout refrigeration processes.
- Assist in improving the efficiency and reliability of refrigeration systems.
- Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety standards and SARACCA regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- N2 Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Valid Trade Test as a Refrigeration Technician
- Ammonia Refrigeration Certificate
- Registered Category B Ammonia Gas Practitioner (SARACCA)
- 2 to 4 years’ experience in refrigeration maintenance, preferably in a food processing or cold storage environment
- Working knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
- Ability to work shifts and perform standby duties as required
