About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Setter Operator to join our team in Maitland, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality components. As a Setter Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating punch press machines using progressive dies, inspecting stamped components, monitoring machine performance, and working closely with quality and engineering teams to meet production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate punch press machines using progressive dies.
- Inspect stamped components for dimensional and cosmetic quality using hand tools and automated equipment.
- Monitor machine performance, adjust settings, and perform routine maintenance.
- Work with quality and engineering teams to meet production standards.
- Maintain production records and complete required documentation.
- Ensure safety, housekeeping, and compliance with ISO quality standards.
- Coordinate with colleagues to meet production deadlines.
Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate
- Trade-tested experience in a similar role (press operator)
- Technical knowledge of hydraulic, eccentric, punch, and arch presses
- Ability to perform machine setup, daily maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Skilled in using measuring instruments, gauges, and basic hand tools
- Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in noisy/hot/cold environments
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused
- Ability to follow blueprints and manufacturing instructions
- English and Afrikaans proficiency
