About the Role
A laboratory quality assurance (QA) clerk is required at our Middelburg site to support quality control processes by performing administrative and technical tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with laboratory SOP’s and regulatory standards, as well as assisting with internal audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare internal quality control (IQC) materials according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Run routine IQC samples and external quality assurance (EQA) samples as per SOP’s.
- Log daily information, such as room temperature and fridge temperatures.
- Identify IQC issues and report deviations to a supervisor.
- Complete and maintain logbooks and registers.
- Ensure all documentation and reports are accurate and up to date.
- Maintain an inventory of laboratory stock, reagents, and consumables.
- Assist with keeping laboratory instruments operational.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and check instrument performance.
- Report instrument breakdowns to the Lab Manager or TQM (Total Quality Management).
- Work in compliance with laboratory SOP’s.
- Ensure laboratory practices align with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), safety, and hygiene protocols.
- Assist with internal audits and compliance to regulatory standards.
- Attend to general quality-related queries.
- Assist with preparing laboratory reports when requested.
- Follow quality control procedures and take part in proficiency schemes.
Requirements
- Able to speak Afrikaans.
- SANAS experience (Laboratory).
- Experience with relevant paperwork, quality control, rincon performances, technical signatory, general admin, word, excel.
