Duties and Responsibilities:
- Merchandising of products to stimulate increased sales
- Advertising of products (within and out of store)
- Purchasing of stock
- Stock control including stock levels etc.
- Introduction of new products and ranges
- Cash control i.e. cash-up receipts and processing
- Sales to calling customers
- Security of the sales area
- Budgeting and targets for sales and expenses
- Promotions within the sales area and externally
- Effective housekeeping
- On the job training of staff
- Maintenance and measurement of service and staff
- Introduction of sales procedures and maintenance thereof
- Marketing Intelligence and pricing
- Pricing structures and Price lists
- Control of delivery vehicle
- Some administration duties
- Morale and team building
- Discount structures
- Work extended hours when necessary
Measurement:
- Achievement of sales and GP budgets
- Achievement of expense budgets
- Overall growth
- Initiative in new developments concerning products
Reporting:
- Monthly reporting on sales, GP and expenses
