This position will be based in Nelspruit and requires a person who has experience in the Civil and Structural Engineering design fields. The expected appointee will need to be hands on and will be able to work independent of supervision and will from time-to-time take responsibility for managing a team of draftspersons and designers.

Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for the design and calculations of civil and structural components as part of a project team.
• Generate accurate and detailed engineering reports relevant to work performed.
• Review design work and drawings produced by civil or structural technicians.
• Generate detailed 3D models and 2D detailed drawings as required.
• Generate technical scope of work for tenders as well as BOQ.
• Perform on-site work such as visual inspections and measurements.
• Work independently.
• Interaction with clients as and when needed.
• The company works internationally and a vaccine passport or the willingness to obtain one is a stated requirement as the individual will travel internationally from time-to-time.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years post qualification experience.
• Prepared to travel and work away from home from time to time.
• Fully conversant with Prokon, Advanced Steel and AutoCAD.
• Registered with ECSA as technologist together with the prerequisite qualification.
• Diverse experience is required but applicants with experience in mining, sugar, oil, and gas industries will be preferred.
• Drivers license (Code 8).
• Valid Passport
