Job Description

Maintenance Manager | Luxury Safari Lodge | North West Salary: Depending on experience Accommodation: Live-in Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager for a luxury safari lodge based in the North West province. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with a strong background in lodge maintenance, capable of ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of all facilities in a remote bush environment. Minimum Requirements: • Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager within a luxury safari lodge environment • Strong all-round technical knowledge (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems) • Experience with preventative maintenance planning and execution • Ability to manage and supervise a maintenance team • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills • Ability to work under pressure in a remote environment • Valid driver’s licence Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Operations: • Oversee all maintenance activities across the lodge, including guest areas and back-of-house • Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve issues proactively • Implement and manage preventative maintenance schedules Technical & Infrastructure Management: • Maintain lodge infrastructure, equipment, and systems • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues • Coordinate with external contractors when required Team Leadership: • Supervise and manage the maintenance team • Allocate tasks and monitor performance • Provide training and guidance to staff where needed Stock & Asset Management: • Manage maintenance tools, equipment, and inventory • Ensure proper use and upkeep of all assets • Monitor and control maintenance-related expenses Compliance & Safety: • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations • Maintain safe working conditions across the property • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Maintenance Manager with solid lodge experience to join a luxury safari property and play a key role in maintaining exceptional standards.
