About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our luxury safari lodge in North West Province. As a hands-on technical leader, you will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations to ensure the lodge remains fully functional, safe, and maintained to 5-star luxury standards in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all maintenance operations across the lodge and staff areas
- Ensure facilities, buildings, and infrastructure are maintained to 5-star standards
- Lead and supervise the maintenance team and allocate daily tasks
- Implement and manage preventative maintenance schedules
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns
- Coordinate repairs, renovations, and upgrades with lodge management
- Manage maintenance budgets and control costs effectively
- Source and procure maintenance materials and supplies
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Maintain water systems, electrics, plumbing, and general lodge infrastructure
- Support asset protection and ensure equipment longevity
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting
Requirements
- Strong technical knowledge (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, general maintenance)
- Strong leadership and team supervision ability
- Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Strong organisational and planning ability
- Ability to work under pressure in remote environments
- Hands-on, practical approach to maintenance operations
Qualifications
No formal education or certifications are required for this role. However, a proven track record of experience as Maintenance Manager or Senior Maintenance Technician is essential.
