Pietermaritzburg: Food Safety

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Food Safety professional to join our team in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with all Food Safety and Quality standards within the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all Food Safety and Quality standards within the plant
• Monitor and maintain HACCP systems and procedures
• Ensure adherence to FSSC 22000 standards and company policies
• Conduct regular food safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Maintain accurate food safety records, reports, and documentation
• Identify non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions
• Ensure hygiene standards are maintained throughout the production process
• Assist with internal and external food safety audits
• Conduct food safety awareness and compliance checks within the workplace
• Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure continuous compliance and improvement

Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• 23 years proven experience within a Food Safety role in a manufacturing or food production environment
• Strong knowledge and understanding of HACCP and FSSC 22000
• Food Safety training certificates will be advantageous
• Computer Literate
• Good communication and administrative skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high hygiene and safety standards
