About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Setter to join our team at MJM Recruitment in Pinetown. As an Injection Moulding Setter, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality products while maintaining efficient production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures required process development information accompanies new tooling.
• Interprets processes received and makes necessary conversions for production equipment to be used.
• Records and maintains mould and process setup sheets.
• Improves and documents processes on existing moulds, using established systematic techniques.
• Assists in trouble shooting production processes
• Ensuring quality standards are achieved
• Assists in training of new process technicians and mould setup personnel.
• Conducts cycle improvement and regrind usage tests.
• Monitors production cycle times
• Identifies key process parameters for process monitoring and control
• Establishes process parameters for part diversion
• Audits production processes for adherence to established setup
• Assists with investigations of reject product and the development of corrective actions
• Ensures that the water, ejector and locating rings are connected correctly.
• Ability to manage tool changes and start machine start-ups
• Ensure mould surfaces are clean and free of plastic
• Knowledge of engineering polymers with moulds with air blast and core pulling
• Makes sure products are set according to master sample
• Makes sure job cards are read to establish the requirements of running the product efficiently and the information is complete and correct.
• The company allows for 3% scrap rate on material usage, this needs to be maintained or improved by the setter
• Setter must approve and sign off each job that is set and create a “Process Control Sheet” per product/machine
• Setter must ensure lubrication is working on the machine
• Setter must ensure no safety switches are by-passed or illegally tampered with
• Setter must watch and remove blow back material. Failure to do so could cause damage of heating elements which cause result in consequences

Requirements

• Matric
• Machine Setter Qualification
• Three to Five years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in the injection moulding process, machines, robotics, and auxiliary equipment and experience in working with machinery up to a press capacity of 14000 tons would serve as an added advantage
