About the Role
Our leading FMCG client in the manufacturing sector is seeking a highly skilled Production and Quality Manager to oversee operations within their fast-paced operation in Pinetown. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proven track record in managing large teams and production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily production operations to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of over 100 staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Develop and implement production schedules and processes to meet company objectives
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Monitor production metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., quality control, maintenance, logistics) to ensure smooth operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to production machinery and equipment
- Manage budgets and optimize costs without compromising quality
- Prepare and present regular reports on production performance to senior management
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Production Management
- HACCP / FSSC / ISO 22000 quality certifications
- Proficiency in Isizulu is advantageous
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a production management role within the FMCG industry
- Demonstrated experience in managing a team of 100 staff
- Experience working with machine-related operations is essential
- Previous experience in a food production environment is highly preferable
