About the Role
Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Assistant Finance Manager to join our client’s team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating financial operations, managing ERP systems, and leading a team of accounts payable staff. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating day-to-day financial, administrative, and IT operations while supporting the company’s strategic objectives
- Coordinate preparation, review, and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, Companies Act (2008), and internal accounting policies
- Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and working capital
- Manage ERP (SAP) and IT systems for accurate financial reporting
- Lead and develop the accounts payable team, fostering accountability and high performance
- Assist with budgeting, forecasts, risk management, and strategic financial initiatives
- Support BBBEE compliance, audits, and other statutory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field – an Honours Degree is preferred
- Professional qualification (CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent) is advantageous
- 10 years of experience managing finance in manufacturing or related sectors
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, Companies Act, South African tax laws, and ERP systems (SAP)
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, financial analysis, and reporting
- Leadership and team management with strong mentoring capability
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization
Special Requirements
- Must be prepared to work additional hours when required
- Valid driver’s license
