Job Description
Our Client operating in the Automotive Component Manufacturing Industry, is seeking to employ an experienced Electrical Draughtsman to their team based in Port Elizabeth.
Requirements:
- ND: Electrical Engineering.
- Up to 3 years experience in electrical drawings and design within a manufacturing environment.
- Computer literacy in MS Office and discipline-specific design software.
- Knowledge of production processes.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and understand electrical installations.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to plan, organise, and work proactively.
- Flexibility and resilience.
- Supervisory capability.
- Strong relationship-building and customer-focused mindset.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Draft new electrical drawings and maintain updated versions.
- Ensure drawings comply with ISO 50001 requirements.
- Track and update changes to electrical drawings as needed.
- Conduct studies to identify best practices, design improvements, and future trends.
- Prepare detailed technical presentations for review.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
- Drive and oversee project designs from initiation to implementation.
- Complete projects within scope, budget, and timelines while managing risks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant procedures, controls, and regulatory frameworks.
- Identify departmental risks and assist with maintaining a risk register.
- Contribute to budget preparation and promote cost-effective resource use.
- Monitor expenditure and report deviations.
- Explore opportunities to reduce operational costs.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attend stakeholder meetings and resolve problems promptly.
- Ensure service delivery standards and SLAs are upheld.
