Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and hands-on Farm Manager to oversee daily operations on a farm in Port Elizabeth. This position requires someone who is practical, with the ability to troubleshoot and fix issues as they arise, and has a strong technical mind for electrical and maintenance work . The ideal candidate will have great leadership skills to guide the farm staff, a passion for agriculture and operations , and a strong drive for success . Someon prepared to work hard, lead by example, and be willing to put in extra hours when necessary.
Responsibilities:
Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on farm equipment and infrastructure. Ensure that farm operations run smoothly and efficiently. Lead, manage, and motivate farm staff , providing guidance and direction when needed. Oversee day-to-day activities on the farm, ensuring productivity and safety standards are met. Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise, using your technical skills and hands-on approach. Manage farm operations in a way that aligns with long-term goals, ensuring the farm runs efficiently and sustainably. Be prepared to put in extra hours during busy periods and work in challenging conditions. Minimum
Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12) Fluent in Afrikaans and English Valid driver’s license (Code 10 would be beneficial) Mechanical or Electrical interest with some hands-on experience in maintenance or repairs Strong leadership and people management skills Computer literate (basic knowledge of office software and farm management tools) Ability to handle pressure and make decisions in fast-paced environments A passion for agriculture and farm operations Willingness to work extra hours when required and drive farm success Preferred (But Not Required): Previous experience in agriculture or operational management Technical expertise or background in farm equipment maintenance What We Offer: Comprehensive training from January to March 2024 in George Accommodation : 4-bedroom house on the farm (if needed) Opportunity to make an impact and grow within a dynamic team A supportive and motivating work environment
