Job Summary

Junior Industrial Engineer Our client, a National Retailer is seeking a Junior Industrial Engineer to join their team. The purpose of the position is to identify, plan and execute logistics related projects within the logistics environment, as well as provide leadership in the on-going improvement of logistics related processes. Job type: Permanent, on-site – at their Warehouse Location: Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha Duties including but not limited to: Identify opportunities to streamline and maximize company performance Continuous reviews to optimize all warehouse layouts Understanding, analysis of and improvement of various logistics systems in Inbound, Outbound and Perishables departments Identify and lead logistics improvement projects Being able to lead and manage various projects at the same time Effective management of projects from inception to completion Leading and providing direction to a dedicated short-term project team Implement and maintain the methods and processes required for “Lean Logistics” thinking and approaches Trouble shooting identified Logistics areas and processes with low productivity Developing and building of dashboards and Power BI Reports Ability to demonstrate strong skills in building and maintaining a comprehensive database Minimum

Requirements:

Matric Tertiary qualification in Industrial Engineering is essential 1 – 2 years working experience in a similar role. High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint Skills Required Superb written and verbal communication skills. High level numeracy, strong logical reasoning and analytical skills Ability to provide leadership in a participative environment Ability to manage and take ownership of projects and delivery to the expected objectives Hands on approach to problem solving Goal orientated and self-driven to achieve results Team player, pro-active and self-motivated and strong customer service orientation Should you wish to be considered for this opportunity, please apply directly to the advertisement.
