Job Description
Our Client in the Automotive Manufacturing Industry is seeking to employ a Quality Assurance Engineer to their team based in Port Elizabeth.
Requirements:
- Grade 12.
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (NQF 6).
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (NQF 7).
- Up to 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Yellow Belt Six Sigma (preferably Green Belt).
- Minimum of 35 years experience in an OEM manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
Quality Assurance Control (30%)

Develop and coordinate engineering procedures, standards, and specifications for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and system operations.

Maintain engineering-aligned QA records and documentation using relevant systems (e.g., Shopware).

Ensure original machine manufacturing data is available and adhered to in engineering practices.

Ensure manufacturing processes consistently meet required quality standards and customer requirements.

Coordinate and support internal and external quality audits.

Evaluate audit findings and implement corrective actions to meet QA standards.
Engineering Systems and Support (25%)

Review and improve the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems.

Evaluate the reliability and accuracy of engineering QA standards.
-
Drive improvement initiatives related to machine performance, production quality, and operational efficiency.

Maintain and oversee document management systems.

Compile engineering and management reports.
-
Supervise and coordinate the Facilities Team, including maintenance and support staff.

Ensure daily maintenance tasks and unplanned work are completed effectively.

Monitor compliance with safety requirements (including blood lead monitoring where applicable).

Coordinate procurement of parts and external service support when required.
Compliance (25%)

Ensure adherence to company procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Identify operational risks and report concerns to management.

Maintain documentation and records required for compliance.

Monitor cost control measures to prevent wasteful or irregular expenditure.
Cost and Financial Control (10%)

Contribute to departmental budget preparation.

Promote efficient use of financial and operational resources.
-
Monitor expenditure against budgets and report variances to management.
-
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities where possible.
Customer Service (10%)

Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Represent the organization in technical and operational meetings.

Resolve operational challenges effectively while maintaining high integrity and service standards.

Ensure customer and stakeholder satisfaction through quality service delivery.
