About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, relevant qualifications, and experience with SAGE Pastel Payroll/SAGE Professional. They will be responsible for preparing financial statements up to Trial Balance (TB) and ensuring accurate payroll processing using SAGE Pastel Payroll/SAGE Professional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial records
  • Process accounts up to Trial Balance
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret Management Statements
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Oversight of SAGE Accounting functions and financial entries
  • Assist with monthly reporting and financial controls
  • Handle payroll-related queries
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records

Requirements

  • Matric with strong accounting understanding
  • Relevant Accounting qualification or similar background
  • Strong working knowledge of SAGE Accounting/SAGE One
  • Ability to prepare and interpret Management Statements accurately
  • Must reside in Pretoria
  • Own reliable vehicle is essential
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Pretoria. As a key member of our financial department, you will be responsible for managing daily card transactions, processing bank deposits, and ensuring accurate financial records. If you have a strong background in accounting and finance, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage daily card transactions and multiple income streams
  • Prepare, reconcile, and balance monthly bank deposits
  • Manage petty cash and operational floats for various departments
  • Capture, process, and upload receipts and supporting documentation onto online financial systems
  • Perform daily and monthly financial reconciliations
  • Process and reconcile debit card transactions and supporting slips
  • Upload bank statements and accurately allocate payments
  • Prepare and issue additional invoices, including ad hoc and rental-related billing
  • Maintain and manage the asset register and related insurance records
  • Process and manage staff-related fund payments
  • Handle and administer financial exemption applications, including feedback, filing, auditing, and external correspondence
  • Manage inventory for internal departments and operational units
  • Support and maintain cashless, automated, and paperless financial processes
  • Assist with financial projects, reporting, and data analysis

Requirements

  • Relevant B.Com Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Completed articles (SAIPA or SAICA or CIMA) would be an advantage but not a must
  • 3 years proven experience in a financial/accounting environment
  • Working knowledge of accounting software
  • Solid understanding of AI tools
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong numerical ability
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
  • Strong communication skills (telephonic and email)
  • Ability to work under pressure and take accountability for deliverables
