Job Description

Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 Financial Diploma or Degree Recent Sage Evolution / Pastel experience At least 3 years financial experience Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain accurate and current financial records and ledgers. Record journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts. Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payments. Manage accounts payable (suppliers) and accounts receivable (customers). Track fixed assets, including depreciation and amortization schedules. Oversee petty cash and perform bank reconciliations. Handle general accounting administrative tasks. Draft correspondence to banks, auditors, and suppliers. Manage business registrations, renewals, and ensure CIPC compliance. Organize and archive financial documentation appropriately. Calculate and submit VAT returns Prepare and file PAYE, UIF, and SDL returns. Prepare income tax calculations and submit to SARS. Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and accounting standards. Liaise with SARS during audits or in response to queries. Assist with cash flow reporting. Job Description

Are you ready to advance your finance career? Join a reputable and expanding company with a diverse property portfolio based in Pretoria. They are seeking a motivated Financial Accountant to support the Financial Manager and play a key role in driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and compliance across multiple business units. As the Financial Accountant , you will oversee and manage the financial operations of both a restaurant and convenience store division. This is a hands-on position that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to optimizing financial processes and profitability in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. Month-End Close: Manage all month-end activities, including reconciliations (sales, stock, creditors, cash, and debtors). VAT & Tax Compliance: Ensure proper VAT allocation and adherence to all applicable tax regulations. Creditors & Debtors Management: Oversee creditor reconciliations, payments, and queries; and manage debtor reconciliations and sales adjustments. Cash Flow Oversight: Monitor the petty cash and daily cash-ups, and ensure optimal liquidity for operations. Profitability Analysis & Cost Control: Evaluate financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve margins, and optimize pricing strategies. Inventory & Stock Management: Implement effective stock controls to minimize wastage and manage product expiries. Wastage Control: Maintain precise recipe costing and improve inventory systems to reduce financial loss. Staff Supervision: Support team development, assist with payroll (in partnership with HR), and ensure labour law compliance. Customer Service & Operational Standards: Champion excellence in service delivery and operational efficiency. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all financial activities comply with the relevant laws, policies, and internal controls. Job Experience and Skills Required: BCom Degree, Diploma, or equivalent financial qualification (preferred) Minimum of 23 years experience in property finance Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with MDA or MRI Property Management Software Apply now!

Reconcile intercompany invoicing and reconciliations. Reconcile all ledgers (supplier, debtors and general ledger) to ensure accuracy and completeness. Reconcile VAT reports. Assist with the preparation of statutory reports. Upload payroll payments. Upload payroll journals on Xero and prepare for the month-end. Calculate and reconcile sales commission. Prepare and reconcile profit and loss/income statements. Prepare and reconcile balance sheet statements. Prepare and reconcile age analysis for creditors and debtors on a monthly basis. Provide necessary reports to management on a monthly basis. Report on expenses as and when required. Process, reconcile, allocate, and capture cash transactions and cash equivalents. Communicate payments to relevant departments. Upload all relevant electronic documents to the accounting system. Liaise with banks on a continuous basis. Load payments on various banks. Reconcile credit card transactions and upload all supporting documentation on Xero Assist with month-end reporting. Assist with annual reporting. Assist with annual audits. Liaise with the sales team and assist with accounting queries on invoices. Manage the debtors collection process and keep age analysis up to date. Handle queries from the Sales Department. Issue all credit notes are processed accurately and timeously. Ensure proper supporting documents are kept for all Invoices raised. Issue all invoices & statements accurately and timeously when required. Allocate and reconcile payments received from customers. Ensure supplier payment allocation is accurate. Conduct monthly reconciliation of creditors for payment. Manage and reconcile all suppliers monthly. Prepare a payment file and submit payments for approval. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of supplier payments. Ensure supplier information is correct and up to date on Xero. Ensure the completeness of suppliers’ invoices monthly. Correspond with suppliers as and when required.

REQUIREMENTS Minimum education (essential): BCom degree in accounting Minimum applicable experience (years): Minimum 1 year post-articles experience in accounting Required nature of experience: Managing client portfolios (individual taxpayers, companies, CCs, trusts) Performing bookkeeping, management accounts, and payroll Preparing annual financial statements (IFRS for SME) VAT, PAYE, and SARS compliance Client onboarding and resource planning Skills and Knowledge (essential): Strong technical knowledge of accounting and tax principles Excellent relationship management skills Up-to-date knowledge of tax developments Proficiency in Xero, SimplePay, Draftworx, and eFiling Other: Proficient in Afrikaans and English Own transport and license SAIPA / CIMA / AGA(SA) membership advantageous KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Manage a client portfolio consisting of individual taxpayers, companies, close corporations, and trusts. Resource planning with regards to deadlines and new client onboarding. Gather necessary financial information, including bank statements and third-party supporting documents. Perform monthly bookkeeping, management accounts, and payroll for clients. Prepare annual financial statements, primarily IFRS for SMEs. Calculate VAT, PAYE, and other statutory requirements on a monthly basis. Ensure client regulatory compliance with CIPC, DoL, and SARS. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by staying up to date on the latest tax and accounting developments. Build and maintain excellent client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
