A respected consulting environment operating within the public sector is seeking an experienced Accountant to support municipal and government-focused projects. This role is ideal for a technically sound Accountant who enjoys working close to delivery, compliance, and real-world implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial reporting and reconciliations within a public sector environment
  • Application of GRAP standards and PFMA requirements
  • Supporting municipal finance functions and compliance deliverables
  • Assisting with audits, reporting packs, and statutory submissions
  • Working closely with project teams and stakeholders on-site

Requirements

  • Completed Accounting degree
  • Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team in Pretoria. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements up to Trial Balance (TB), compiling, analyzing, and interpreting Management Statements, and ensuring accurate payroll processing using SAGE Pastel Payroll / SAGE Professional.   • Compile, analyze, and interpret Management Statements

  • Handle payroll-related queries and ensure accurate monthly payroll preparation and submissions
  • Perform ad-hoc administrative duties and general filing

Requirements

  • Strong accounting understanding
  • Relevant Accounting qualification or similar background

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage daily card transactions and multiple income streams
  • Prepare, reconcile and balance monthly bank deposits
  • Manage petty cash and operational floats for various departments
  • Capture, process and upload receipts and supporting documentation onto online financial systems
  • Perform daily and monthly financial reconciliations
  • Process and reconcile debit card transactions and supporting slips
  • Upload bank statements and accurately allocate payments
  • Prepare and issue additional invoices, including ad hoc and rental-related billing
  • Maintain and manage the asset register and related insurance records
  • Process and manage staff-related fund payments
  • Handle and administer financial exemption applications, including feedback, filing, auditing and external correspondence
  • Manage inventory for internal departments and operational units
  • Support and maintain cashless, automated and paperless financial processes
  • Assist with financial projects, reporting and data analysis

Requirements

  • Completed articles (SAIPA or SAICA or CIMA) would be an advantage but not a must
  • 3 years proven experience in a financial/accounting environment
  • Working knowledge of accounting software
  • Solid understanding of AI tools
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail and strong numerical ability
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team

About the Role

We are seeking a newly qualified Chartered Accountant to join our finance team in Pretoria. As an analytical and hands-on individual, you will be responsible for management accounting and financial reporting functions, including cost and management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and tax compliance. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow within a stable and reputable organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting and financial reporting functions
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis

Requirements
