About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team based in Pretoria East. As the Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the full accounting function and managing a team of bookkeepers, debtors, and creditors. This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys leading a team and maintaining strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the full accounting function
- Managing and supporting the bookkeeper, debtors, and creditors staff
- Reviewing monthly reconciliations and ensuring accuracy of financial records
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Budgeting and forecasting support
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial policies
- Assisting with audits and year-end processes
- Driving process improvements within the finance department
Requirements
- BCom degree in Accounting or a related field (essential)
- Minimum 5 years commercial experience
- Proven experience managing finance staff (bookkeeper, debtors, and creditors)
- Strong understanding of financial controls and reporting
- Advanced MS Excel proficiency
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication skills
