About the Role
We are seeking a candidate to assist with various legal processes in Pretoria, including drafting documents, managing deceased estates, and conducting research. As an attorney assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our team of attorneys and ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the administration of deceased estates
- Draft legal documents including summons and notices
- Prepare liquidation and distribution accounts
- Draft and review wills and trusts
- Serve legal documents at the Sheriffs office
- Lodge claims with the Road Accident Fund (RAF)
- Submit documents to the Master of the High Court
- Advertise deceased estates in the Government Gazette and newspapers
- Ensure compliance with the Administration of Estates Act 66 of 1965
- Communicate with clients and provide updates on case progress
- Accompany clients to expert assessments
- Request and manage hospital records
- Upload legal documents on Case Lines
- Create and manage cases on Court Online
- Conduct legal research
- Complete RAF forms
- Handle correspondence with banks and other institutions
- Open and maintain physical client files
- Organize and manage file referencing systems
Requirements
- South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34
- Must not have participated in the YES programme before
- Matric
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
