Our client in the Financial Services / Healthcare Insurance Analytics Industry is looking to employ a Senior Data Analyst to join their team based in Sandton, Gauteng.

Requirements
- Masters Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics, Applied Mathematics, or Business Analytics Advantageous
- Bachelors Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Essential
- 5+ years experience in data analytics or business intelligence roles
- Experience in healthcare, medical aid, or insurance analytics Advantageous
- Certification in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or Cognos
- Advanced SQL programming Essential
- Python programming and statistical modelling experience Essential
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing and BI platforms
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, and analytical models
Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Business Intelligence
- Conduct advanced data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and business insights
- Develop and maintain data models and data structures supporting BI reporting
- Build and optimise data warehouse and reporting solutions
- Design visual dashboards and interactive reporting tools
- Perform statistical modelling and predictive analytics
Business and Stakeholder Support
- Translate business requirements into technical analytics solutions
- Provide analytical insights to support strategy, risk management, and decision-making
- Conduct cost, expenditure, and provider performance analysis
- Support KPI development and performance tracking
Data Governance and Quality
- Maintain high standards of data integrity and accuracy
- Identify and resolve data quality issues
- Implement data validation and control processes
- Document data processes and modelling frameworks
Technical Development
- Optimise SQL queries for performance and efficiency
- Develop automated reporting and data extraction processes
- Support BI platform development and system integration
Risk, Compliance and Financial Insights
- Identify financial and operational risks through data analysis
- Support audit and regulatory compliance reporting
- Analyse fraud, waste, and high-risk transactional behaviour
Leadership and Collaboration
- Mentor junior analysts
- Collaborate with cross-functional business teams
- Support innovation in data analytics capabilities
