About the Role
Our client is an established professional services firm providing accounting, tax, and related financial services to a diverse client base. The firm places strong emphasis on professional excellence, long-term client relationships, and staff development within a structured, performance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute accounting deadlines for a diverse client portfolio across various industries.
- Supervise and mentor SAIPA accountants and SAIPA trainees.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Review junior staff work to ensure quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Identify risks and recommend practical solutions to improve financial processes.
- Manage resources and ensure work is completed within agreed budgets and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with tax legislation, auditing standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts.
- Manage VAT, income tax, and provisional tax processes.
- Handle SARS-related processes, including registrations and disputes.
- Ensure statutory compliance, including CIPC and other regulatory filings.
- Support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Perform ad hoc accounting and financial duties as required.
Requirements
- Professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant (newly qualified or awaiting final registration).
- Senior SAIPA/ AGA qualified Accountants are welcome to apply.
- Completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Accounting.
- Final board examination written and passed or results pending.
- 13 years post-articles experience in an accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Own reliable transport.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability.
