About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Medical Technologist/Technician to join our team at Numeral Financial Services Group in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for all tasks and activities according to and compliant with current approved policies, processes, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for umbilical cord blood and cord tissue banking, according to national and international Regulations and Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cord blood and tissue samples for processing
- Process and cryopreserve umbilical cord blood and cord tissue
- Communicate with clients and healthcare professionals accordingly
- Maintain and operate specialised laboratory equipment
- Record and interpret results
- Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks
- Present on topics as part of ongoing training program
- Attend weekly and monthly meetings
- Maintain adequate stock levels
Requirements
- BSc Degree in Genetics, Biochemistry, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Applied Biology, or Medical biotechnology
- At least 6 months working experience in a laboratory
- Sound communication skills
- Accuracy and precision
- High level of integrity
