About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead our electrical engineering department and drive technical excellence across all projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling the department’s activities, ensuring compliance with Iritron quality systems and safety standards, and applying best practices in electrical design engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and control the electrical engineering department and all associated activities
- Ensure all projects adhere to Iritron quality systems and safety standards
- Monitor and support the electrical design engineering team
- Apply best practices in electrical design engineering
- Ensure technical projects meet deadlines, eliminate waste, and are profitable
- Liaise with the team to schedule services that this department must render to other departments
- Develop team development plans ensuring that team members adhere to necessary procurement requirements
- Report risks and gaps in projects to the Managing Executive
- Prepare scope of work, specifications, bill of quantities, and tender documents in line with client needs and requirements
- Compile information for manufacturing and software engineering phases of the project
- Complete site audits of client existing infrastructures and generate reports advising clients of technical and legislative compliance
- Complete and review detailed medium voltage and low voltage electrical designs
- Prepare commissioning procedures, documentation, and manage commissioning activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (B. Eng) or equivalent NQF
- Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) in Electrical Engineering qualification
