About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and manage electrical engineering projects from concept through to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from concept through to completion
- Develop and review detailed electrical designs, specifications, and engineering documentation
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements
- Prepare scopes of work, technical specifications, bill of quantities, and tender documentation
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Engineers, Engineers-in-Training, and CAD Operators
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct design reviews and ensure engineering quality and accuracy
- Support project scoping, budgeting, tender evaluations, and contract administration
- Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost-effective engineering solutions
- Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support when required
Requirements
- BEng or BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional registration with ECSA as Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech Eng. (highly advantageous)
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in electrical engineering design and project execution
- Proven experience within mining, industrial, or heavy engineering environments
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Strong exposure to industrial plant design and electrical infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: BEng or BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering; Professional registration with ECSA as Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech Eng.
