About the Role

The Tyre Foreman is a critical role that oversees all tyre-related operations within the workshop, ensuring optimal fleet performance and safety for our client’s heavy-duty trucking business. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for technical tyre maintenance, team supervision, inventory control, and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise tyre fitting and maintenance for heavy-duty vehicles
  • Conduct and supervise tyre inspections, repairs, re-treading, rotations, balancing, and replacements
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the tyre team and technicians while allocating daily tasks
  • Manage tyre inventory, including new tyres, casings, repaired tyres, and usage history records
  • Conduct tyre checks on trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other fleet vehicles
  • Enforce health and safety standards, OHS, RTMS, and legal requirements within the workshop
  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly tyre usage and performance reports
  • Attend to after-hours emergency breakdowns when the standby team cannot resolve the issue

Requirements

  • Minimum 35 years of experience in tyre fitting/maintenance for heavy-duty vehicles
  • Grade 12 / Matric qualification
  • Valid Drivers License: B or EB
  • Strong knowledge of tyre brands, specifications, application, and wear pattern analysis
  • Basic computer literacy in Excel and tyre management systems
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling of heavy tyres

Qualifications

  • Certificate or relevant training in tyre maintenance (preferred)

Salary & Benefits

R30k to R40k pm CTC
