About the Role
The Tyre Foreman is a critical role that oversees all tyre-related operations within the workshop, ensuring optimal fleet performance and safety for our client’s heavy-duty trucking business. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for technical tyre maintenance, team supervision, inventory control, and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise tyre fitting and maintenance for heavy-duty vehicles
- Conduct and supervise tyre inspections, repairs, re-treading, rotations, balancing, and replacements
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the tyre team and technicians while allocating daily tasks
- Manage tyre inventory, including new tyres, casings, repaired tyres, and usage history records
- Conduct tyre checks on trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other fleet vehicles
- Enforce health and safety standards, OHS, RTMS, and legal requirements within the workshop
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly tyre usage and performance reports
- Attend to after-hours emergency breakdowns when the standby team cannot resolve the issue
Requirements
- Minimum 35 years of experience in tyre fitting/maintenance for heavy-duty vehicles
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification
- Valid Drivers License: B or EB
- Strong knowledge of tyre brands, specifications, application, and wear pattern analysis
- Basic computer literacy in Excel and tyre management systems
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling of heavy tyres
Qualifications
- Certificate or relevant training in tyre maintenance (preferred)

R30k to R40k pm CTC
