Job Summary
- Compile and analyse financial information to prepare journal entries, including but not limited to accruals, reclassifications, and corrections.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
- Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Participate in audits and provide supporting documentation.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Analyse financial data and provide insights to management.
- Stay up-to-date on accounting regulations and best practices.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Minimum requirements:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or a related field.
- 3 + years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, ideally XERO
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAICA completed articles
