Job Description

A well-established sportswear manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Floor Manager to lead their production floor in Randburg. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of garment manufacturing processes, particularly managing teams of seamstresses and overseeing line machinery. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving output, streamlining workflow, and ensuring that daily production targets are consistently met without compromising on quality. This is a strategic operational role requiring a balance of people management, process oversight, and production efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the production floor

  • Lead and support a team of approximately 20 seamstresses and machine operators

  • Manage production timelines and ensure targets are met

  • Monitor machinery usage and line efficiency

  • Maintain high standards of product quality and workmanship

  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and workflow issues

  • Implement continuous improvements to boost output and team performance

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving output, streamlining workflow, and ensuring that daily production targets are consistently met without compromising on quality. This is a strategic operational role requiring a balance of people management, process oversight, and production efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the production floor

  • Lead and support a team of approximately 20 seamstresses and machine operators

  • Manage production timelines and ensure targets are met

  • Monitor machinery usage and line efficiency

  • Maintain high standards of product quality and workmanship

  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and workflow issues

  • Implement continuous improvements to boost output and team performance

  • Report on production metrics and liaise with senior management

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in floor or production management within a clothing manufacturing environment

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate production teams

  • Solid understanding of garment construction, sewing techniques, and machine operation

  • A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving and team coordination

  • Currently employed in a similar position, with a stable work history

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet high-volume production targets
