About the Role
Our client, a well-established and reputable motor dealership in Northcliff, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Diagnostic Technician to join their workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for advanced fault-finding, diagnostics and mentoring junior technicians while ensuring work is completed to manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced vehicle diagnostics and fault-finding using diagnostic equipment
- Accurately identify mechanical and electronic faults
- Carry out complex repairs in line with manufacturer specifications
- Interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Assist and guide junior technicians with technical support
- Ensure all work meets dealership and manufacturer quality standards
- Complete job cards accurately and within allocated time frames
- Conduct final quality checks on completed repairs
- Liaise with service advisors regarding technical explanations when required
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
Requirements
- Red Seal Trade Test (Motor Mechanic) Essential
- Proven experience as a Diagnostic / Senior Technician within a motor dealership
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electronics and diagnostic systems
- Experience working with OEM diagnostic tools
- Valid drivers licence
- Clear criminal record
- Stable work history
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills
