About the Role
Van Schaik Bookstore is seeking an exceptional Junior Branch Manager to join our team in Sandton. As a strategic thinker with a passion for retail, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and profitability, while promoting our products and services to various stakeholders. With a strong focus on customer service and creating a positive shopping experience, we are looking for someone who can lead by example and foster a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor sales and turnover
- Promote products and services
- Canvasing schools and TVET Colleges in area for new business
- Initiate and maintain contact with lecturing staff of tertiary institutions, potential customers and representative of publishers or their suppliers
- Manage store operations including inventory control and merchandising.
- Maintain administrative process (customer orders, quotations, pro-formas, enquiries)
- Develop and manage team
- Provide training and developing team members with skills and knowledge for them to succeed
- Manage performance of your team and give constructive feedback
Requirements
- Senior certificate
- Post school qualification in Retail/Business Management will be to your advantage
- Understanding of financial concepts, budgeting and profitability
- Ability to identify sales opportunities
- Ability to lead a team, set goals and foster a positive work environment
- Passion to deliver exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience
- Approximately two years’ work experience in a similar position is a prerequisite
