Job Specification: Marketing Assistant Client: Confidential Location: Houghton, Johannesburg Salary: R15 000 – R20 000 CTC per month (depending on experience) Working Hours: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16:30 or 08:30 – 17:00 Overview Our client, based in Houghton , is seeking a proactive and creative Marketing Assistant to support the marketing and sales teams with content creation, digital marketing activities, and campaign coordination. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing online presence, assisting with marketing campaigns, and coordinating promotional initiatives including exhibitions and sales activations. Key Responsibilities Content & Digital Marketing Create and distribute marketing newsletters Write and publish blog content Develop engaging marketing and promotional content Manage and maintain company social media platforms Oversee and update the company LinkedIn page Monitor engagement and assist with growing online presence Website Coordination Liaise with the website development team regarding: Website updates Content changes Technical issues or malfunctions Ensure website content remains current and aligned with marketing campaigns Marketing & Sales Support Assist with ad hoc marketing campaigns requested by the sales team Support promotional initiatives and product marketing activities Coordinate campaign materials and timelines Events & Expos Assist with expo applications and registrations Coordinate expo setup and activations Support branding and promotional preparation for exhibitions Minimum Requirements Relevant qualification or certification in Marketing, Communications, or related field (advantageous) 1–3 years’ experience in a marketing or marketing assistant role Strong written communication and content creation skills Experience managing social media platforms (especially LinkedIn) Basic understanding of digital marketing principles Good organisational and coordination skills Proficient in MS Office and general digital tools Key Competencies Creative and detail-oriented Strong time management skills Ability to multitask and meet deadlines Team player with a proactive attitude Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Location Houghton, Johannesburg Preference may be given to candidates residing within reasonable travelling distance.
