Job Description
Our client, a reputable occupational health centre, is seeking a dedicated and dependable Occupational Health Nursing Practitioner to join their team at their Sasolburg clinic. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting workplace health and safety and will have excellent communication, administrative, and organisational skills to ensure the effective delivery of occupational health services to clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform specialised tests, including audiometry and spirometry, ensuring accurate records and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Design and implement health surveillance programs, monitor employee health data, and report any trends that may indicate health risks.
- Carry out follow-up assessments and referrals to ensure the ongoing health of employees in high-risk roles.
- Work with safety officers to ensure that workplace conditions comply with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records and reports as required by occupational health regulations.
- Prepare monthly and annual reports on occupational health activities and findings.
- Provide initial treatment for workplace injuries and medical emergencies, referring patients to appropriate healthcare facilities if necessary.
- Coordinate with other medical professionals, HR, and management to address employee health issues and support overall wellness strategies.
- Attend regular meetings to review health and safety policies and share insights on occupational health trends.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) with an additional qualification in Occupational Health.
- Valid indemnity insurance and current registration with the South African Society of Occupational Health Nursing Practitioners (SASOHN).
- Certificate in audiometry.
- Certificate in spirometry.
- ECG Certificate
- Vision Screening qualification
- Registration with SASOHN as an audiometrist.

- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, employees, and medical teams.
- High level of dependability and hardworking nature.
- Proficiency in computer applications (e.g., MS Office, health record software).
- Excellent administrative skills, including record-keeping and reporting.
- Effective time management and organisational abilities.
- Ability to plan and prioritise tasks to manage the clinics day-to-day functions efficiently.
Salary Package:
- Market related depending on experience
