About the Role
Phakisa Holdings is seeking a skilled Instrument Mechanics Contractor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all artisan functions related to petrochemical plant Analysers instrumentation and control system maintenance, operations support, and fault finding.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality work and high productivity
- Fault finding
- Good housekeeping
- Maintaining on-line analyser equipment
- Effective problem solving and defect reporting
- Maintain a healthy and safe environment
- Deliver a service in accordance with customer requirements
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Administrative management
- Results recording and history keeping (on SAP)
- Maintenance of all on-line plant (liquid and gas) analysers, including Gas Chromatographs, UV, Infrared, Gas detectors and TOC
- Maintenance of shelter systems
- Operation of water analysers
- Operation of gas monitors
- Operation of Physical Property analysers
- Maintenance of sample systems on all relevant analyzers
- Maintenance of plant (liquid and gas) analysers
- Maintenance of analyser specification sheets, information systems, drawings, and spares
- Software maintenance on all analyzers
- Full compliance to Sasol task risk assessments, work instructions, and working procedures
- DCS experience (Honeywell)
- PLC experience (Siemens, Yokagawa, Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Allen Bradley)
- QA/QC experience with instrumentation installations
- Practical understanding of EX and hazardous area classifications
Requirements
- GR 12 Certificate with Maths, Science, and English literacy.
- Instrument trade test certificate/Red Seal Certificate.
- Driver’s license (code 08).
