Our client looking for A Database Engineer who enjoys digging deep into database internals and ensuring reliability, availability, and performance across mission-critical environments. What You’ll Do Design, configure, and operate relational, time-series, and NoSQL databases Tune performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise data systems Deploy and manage databases in cloud and containerised environments (Kubernetes/Docker) Build and refine SQL queries, stored procedures, and database APIs (Python/PHP) Implement backups, restores, and disaster recovery workflows Work with platform/infrastructure engineers on storage, capacity planning, and performance Help automate database provisioning and operational processes What You’ll Need 5 years working with production databases at scale Deep SQL experience & strong understanding of database performance Experience with Postgres/MySQL/MariaDB at least one NoSQL or time-series database Comfort with cloud/container environments (Docker/Kubernetes) Linux/Unix experience Knowledge of CI/CD or automation tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible) Nice to Have Exposure to Kafka or high-throughput systems Experience with distributed storage or parallel file systems Interest in performance engineering or advanced monitoring/observability
