About the Role
Hire Resolve has partnered with a great company, specializing in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction, to seek an Accountant to join their team in Windhoek, Namibia. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and related AP and AR reconciliations, as well as cash/debtors management reports
- Monitor and assist with accounts receivable and payable activities
- Oversee Project Cost Reports in collaboration with the Project Accountant and Project teams
- Prepare final trial balance/management accounts for input into Annual Financial Statements
- Manage audit processes and resolve auditors’ queries
- Control fixed assets, including maintaining a fixed asset register
- Manage and review all necessary tax returns and submissions within monthly deadlines
- Review calculations of salaries and other benefits for employees and ensure their distribution
- Prepare and submit VAT returns within monthly deadlines
- Calculate and manage company income tax returns and submissions within specific deadlines
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and legislation
- Create and release payments for various procurements in accordance with cash flow projections
- Perform ad hoc duties as required
Requirements
- Qualification in an Accounting discipline
- 5 years of experience in a similar role with relevant industry experience
- Proven experience in Financial Accounting in Namibia
- Knowledge of computerized accounting cost control systems and their operations and applications
- Proven experience with online banking software for payment runs
- Proven experience in a large ERP system
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, consistently producing high-quality deliverables within budget and schedule constraints
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues across all business units
- Build and sustain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and co-workers
- Proactively seek and accept guidance and feedback from subject matter experts and colleagues
- Ability to work efficiently in a team and knowledge-sharing environment
